Contemplative Dance Practice
This practice was developed by Barbara Dilley. It is a practice, which combines the practices of sitting meditation and improvisational movement.
1/2hour sitting, 1/2hour solo improvised movement, 1/2 hour open moving together.
The movement practice focuses first on one’s own self, then expanding the attention to include the environment and other people in the environment while still being aware of self. It also poses questions about the art of composing and structuring spontaneous choreographies.
